Truth to be told I have started my year 2020 with a blast despite this COVID-19. I have been chosen to represent Malaysia again in the ASEAN-ROK program; this time is Model ASEAN-Korea Summit (M.A.K.S) hosted by the Asia Exchange Association and sponsored by the ASEAN-ROK Cooperation Fund. This program was held in Busan, South Korea in which the previous ASEAN-ROK commemorative was being organized.
This program gathers youths from ASEAN-ROK for a forum regarding global partnership and future plans in Socio-Culture, Political-Security, and Economics sector. In this forum, all of the participants need to discuss the issues that their country has to face and try to solve it together so that we can achieve the joint statement in which can benefit the relationship of ASEAN-ROK from all sectors.
I have been selected to represent Malaysia with my Malaysian partner Wan Chiew Ng for Socio-Culture; Dayang Ku Zulaikha and Fitri Syazani for Economics, Shangeetha and Muhammad Suhayl for Political-Security committee. We have been together for a week to help and give support to each other. We are so close with each other since we need to discuss the joint statement; the performance for culture night; and we even went on the field trip together.
What can I say about this program is the schedule is really tight with the committee meeting, but this meeting is important to create a joint statement that been agreed by all the delegates from all the ASEAN- ROK countries by the end of this program.
Here is some photo that has been taken during this program:

Special thanks to all the delegates especially delegate from Indonesia Deris (Muhammad Rizki Nugraha Darma Nagara) and Dyandra Ayu Anida that always help me and Chiew during the committee meeting. Model Summit
On our very last day here, went to BEXCO for the Model Summit; did you know BEXCO had held the 30th of ASEAN - Republic of Korea Commemorative Summit in 2019. This is a great opportunity for us since we are doing the model summit at the same venue as the ASEAN - Republic of Korea Commemorative Summit taken place. The best things are all the judges were surprised to see our enthusiasm and hard work to come up with the joint statement.
I really enjoyed every single thing about this program, to been given an opportunity to sit with all the delegates from ASEAN-ROK countries and discussing the problem and way to solve it, is like a dream come true. Meeting new people and the people that I know from the previous program have made me the luckiest people in the world.
Thanks to AEA for this Model ASEAN-Korea Summit program and for this opportunity. I have such amazing memories that I will treasure forever.
Sincerely,
Nabeela Ami Mohd Yusof
